Logitech Quickcam for Notebooks Pro

I recently helped a friend setup a new Logitech Quickcam for Notebooks Pro under Ubuntu Edgy.  My worry was that such a new device was likely to be unsupported under linux.  Indeed, Ubuntu did not have support for it by default but... The Linux UVC driver project aims to support USB Video Class devices much like usb-storage supports USB Storage class devices.  I checked out the source from the subversion repository and built it on Ubuntu.  This required installing the subversion, and build-essential packages.

Loading the module in rc.local provided a quick fix, and it works great!
